Even in the late 1800s, citrus products from this area were being delivered to people all over the United States. Students attend Melrose Elementary School then Keystone Heights High School.

Lake Santa Fe is popular with fishermen, boaters, and water skiers for its pristine waters. Melrose Bay Park is an alcove of Melrose Lake and is the perfect spot for swimming. Melrose Heritage Park hosts a farmers market and other events throughout the year. There is also a play area for the kids.
